Seagrass, wall to wall (broadloom)
carpet, is the least expensive and the most versatile of the natural
floor coverings. This hard, yet smooth fiber is woven onto latex-backed
floor covering as a simple (half panama) or basket-weave pattern.
Seagrass
retains the grassy, hay-like scent and colouring of the plant from
which it is extracted. However, once the carpet is unrolled and
installed the odour dissipates over time.
Seagrass
has a neutral colour in its own light-brown and beige strands with a
green touch to it. Seagrass rugs and carpet are relatively
non-absorbent and hard, do not often stain, and dirt is easily brushed
loose. Seagrass area rugs & carpet have a non-porous surface
that gives it a naturally smooth texture and sheen. Its rigidity gives
it natural durability.
